Project: Promotional Materials

Promotional Materials runs along side our Final Major Project.
I am choosing to use nature materials for my promotional work.

Here are some pieces of inspiration...

painted goose feathers : Kirsten Rickert

Paint that cool driftwood you found on your amazing vacation and hang it on the wall!

Manitas de Plata Marina Puche Joyería

Wonderful autumn leaf tags...color photo copy leaves and cut out into tags. Could do this with everygreen, etc. for Christmas?

Research: Dissertation

Today I did some work on my dissertation. It's slowly getting there! It's so interesting reading up about Land Girls and their experiences during their time helping the war effort. Some of the accounts are actually pretty emotional and overwhelming. Basically my dissertation is just an excuse to say THANKYOU to them for being so awesome and help path the way to equality for women.

Today I was specifically looking at WWI recruitment posters and how they portrayed the Women's Land Army in an idyllic and, almost, glamorised manner, using patriotic sayings and suggestions to encourage women to sign up.

Research: Dissertation

For my dissertation, I am writing about 'Land Girls' of the 1940s and the representation of women from this time.
Being both a lover of vintage fashion & design and a self-proclaimed feminist, I thought this subject would be perfect for me to write about.
My initial research is photographs of Land Girls.

Personal: Commission Research

I have been asked to draw the most beautiful Saluki hound for a client who would like her beloved pet tattooed on her leg. The client has asked for the image to be full of texture and to capture Cai's 'whispy' fur, especially at the ends of the ears.

She sent me this most lovely photo of her dog's ears, showing the different textures between the long and short fur.

Research: Murals

Our first and current project at university is to create a mural for the Butter Market, which is an indoor market in Hereford High Town. As a group, we have been designated four walls within the market to decorate with our own design.

Today I have been researching existing murals and large scale bodies of work.
